Good morning Sean. So glad I stopped by to read your words today. You write so honestly about grieving and the everyday milestone. A celebration everyday. It's humbling to read you! Ouch for the pube shaving and the bike ride. I felt that too!

Well done on your big day. I have to say, anyone who struggles with addiction and have stayed away from it, their big day is enormous. Well done!!!

Thankyou so much! <3 I agree. Anybody who finds sobriety in the midst of addiction has put in obscene levels of work behind the scenes to get where they are.

1.5 years is truly impressive. That kind of self-discipline takes a lot of strength. It’s not easy to walk away from something that’s been such a big part of your life.

The thing is, though, when you've had that kind of rush, that excitement, it doesn’t just disappear. You can say you've quit, but sometimes, that feeling lingers in the background. Almost like a part of you knows you’ve got the control to handle it now, even better than before.

It’s funny, isn’t it? The things we walk away from, sometimes we’re better equipped to face them when we come back. Anyway, I’m sure you’ve made the right choice for yourself, but it’s good to see someone with that kind of strength. Not everyone can say they’ve come this far.

Yeah that feeling - that you might be able to control it again - is echoed in the GA room I attend. The counter/the defence to that is to keep showing up and listening to how badly it is affecting new people walking in. It helps remind (them) of just how bad it was for them.
