is it possible to be addicted to people, do you think?

Not loving them, just addicted to what they say, wanting to come up against them and bat them down because they have control over you?

Wow. that's a new thought for me.

The addiction there isn't in the people.

what is it in?

Sean Corcoran's avatar

Oh no I'm not a real doctor

I know you aren't. But you are the perfect person for me to think about this with.

I'll leave this here. You can pick up on it or not. Thanks.

You seem more addicted/at comfort with the emotional friction.

see?! i knew you were the right one. i think you're right. It blends in with all the other things revealed

to me lately.

Can I quote you on this?

The Dope Doula's avatar

"truth is accepting the fact that you are completely powerless to it." Are you though?

Sean Corcoran's avatar

Yep. For me, I am powerless over Gambling. All I have power over is not making another bet in my life. And I can build and do a lot of things to help me prevent that.

I think I understand what you mean. Please correct me if I'm wrong: is that to say that if you were to place another bet, you would be powerless ie gambling would consume your life? (hence powerless)

But you do have the power to prevent it altogether by never placing that initial bet?

Sean Corcoran's avatar

Sorry, yes, exactly that. :)

I can't believe it took me two decades to grasp that very basic sentence 🫣

Honestly, for something that big? I think it's amazing we ever grasp it at all
